At the Coupe de Jeunesse in France this weekend, Commercial’s own Eimear Lambe and her doubles partner Jasmine English stormed through the field to claim the bronze medal behind Italy and Switzerland. Eimear is the rising star of Commercial and indeed of Irish rowing.
At the Euro Masters in Munich, it was raining medals on Commercial’s legendary veterans. The international powerhouse of Fran O’Toole and Donal McGuinness took Gold in the pair. Dennis Crowley zipped in to win in the single sculls. Mick Heavey powered his way to third place in his single scull category and the Commercial composite 8+ took bronze.
Meanwhile on the home-front, Ed Meehan carried out a triumph of the will to overcome gusty conditions and saturation and win Junior 15 1X Gold at Carrick-on-Shannon sprint regatta today.
